Scott was founded in 1958 in Sun Valley, Idaho. Scott Bikes would dominate the biking industry by creating the first carbon MTB, first aerodynamic handlebar, and other quality bicycle parts.
In 1989 Scott introduced the clip-on, aerodynamic bicycle handlebar. The handlebar was used by American Greg LeMond in his 1989 Tour de France win, when he beat Frenchman Laurent Figonon by nearly a minute in the 24.5 km final time trial. Previous to this event it was widely used in triathlon and Race Across America.
Away from the road, Scott has also had huge success in XC mountain bike racing, with Olympic gold medallist and ten-time World Champion Nino Schurter piloting various iterations of Scott Spark and Scale to a ludicrous number of wins over the years.
In 1991, Scott produced their first suspension fork named "Unishock" and a year later, their first full-suspension mountain bicycle was shown to the public.
In 1995 SCOTT introduced its first Carbon mountain bike. Thanks to many victories in the World Cup and at the Olympic Games, as well as great coverage in the media, the bike and the name, Endorphin, became a true legend.
In 2001 Team Issue road bike frame was the lightest frame available at the time at 895 grams.
In 2007 The new Addict is the lightest road frame available, just 790 grams with integrated seat post (165 grams). When combined with SCOTT's new, slimmer Carbon IMP™ fork that weighs just 330 grams, the new Addict bike weighs an amazing 5.9 kg.
In 2016 Winning both the Olympic Gold Medal and the XCO World Championships in their categories in the same year, SCOTT-Odlo MTB Racing’s Nino Schurter and Jenny Rissveds not only marked a milestone in the sport of Mountain Biking, but also marked the most successful year in the history of SCOTT.
In 2017 FOIL DISC was introduced becoming the lightest Aero road bike with disc brakes on the market. It combines light weight, aerodynamics, compliance and control like no other road bike on the market.
